Brokers are increasingly turning to non-bank lenders to meet client needs, according to the latest Broker Pulse: Residential Lending Survey by Agile Market Intelligence.


In June 2024, a staggering 87% of brokers cited client circumstances as the primary reason for recommending non-bank lenders—a significant increase from previous months. This shift underscores the growing importance of flexibility and tailored solutions in the lending landscape.


The survey also dispels a common myth: 75% of brokers reported using non-bank lenders primarily for better pricing, challenging the belief that major banks offer more competitive rates.


As brokers continue to adapt to evolving client needs, the industry’s reliance on non-bank lenders is poised to reshape residential lending strategies moving forward.
